The High Island Cardinals topped the visiting Burkeville Mustangs volleyball squad by a final score of 3-0 in Friday's league game.

Next up, the Cardinals face the Hull-Daisetta Bobcats (Daisetta, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 25 game, on Tuesday, October 8. High Island will attempt to advance on its 6-4 season record. The Bobcats go into the game with a 2-13 record after their 3-2 league win over Spurger (Spurger, TX).

The Mustangs (3-12) will now prepare for their game against Spurger (Spurger, TX). The Pirates go into the 1A Region IV District 25 game with a 9-10 record. In their last game, Spurger went down by Hull-Daisetta (Daisetta, TX), 3-2, in a league game.
