With the win, Southwestern improves its record to 12-17 on the season. The Piasa Birds travel to Metro-East Lutheran (Edwardsville, IL) to encounter the Knights in a non-league battle on Wednesday, October 16. The Knights go into the battle with a record of 5-21. Metro-East Lutheran lost 2-0 in their recent league battle against Althoff Catholic (Belleville, IL)

The Miners now own a 7-19 record. They put it on the line next when they host Vandalia for a South Central battle on Thursday, October 17. Gillespie will encounter a Vandals squad coming off a 2-1 league loss to Southwestern (Piasa, IL). The Vandals record now stands at 5-22.
