The Southwestern Piasa Birds volleyball team scored 2 points and restricted the visiting Gillespie Miners to 1 in the Piasa Birds league triumph on Tuesday.

The Piasa Birds now have a 14-18 record. They play next when they travel to Greenville for a South Central outing on Thursday, October 24. Southwestern will play a Comets team coming off a 2-0 league loss to Vandalia (Vandalia, IL). The Comets record now stands at 7-23.

With the loss, Gillespie drops to 8-22 on the campaign. The Miners travel to Litchfield (Litchfield, IL) to play the Purple Panthers in a South Central outing on Thursday, October 24. The Purple Panthers come into the outing with a record of 11-12. Litchfield lost 2-0 in their recent league outing against Pana (Pana, IL)
