Mountain Heritage Cougars (Burnsville, NC) fans were thrilled Monday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC), 7-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Cougars face the Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC) in a Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge, on Wednesday, October 18. Mountain Heritage will attempt to better on its 11-6 season record. The Patriots enter the challenge with a 7-9 record after their 3-1 league loss to Avery County (Newland, NC).

The Mountaineers now have a 0-12 record. They take the field next when they host Avery County for a Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge on Monday, October 23. Mitchell will face a Vikings team coming off a 5-0 league loss to Owen (Black Mountain, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 11-3.
