Mountain Heritage Cougars (Burnsville, NC) supporters were pleased Wednesday as they observed their soccer team prevail over the host Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC), 5-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Cougars confront the Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC) in a Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge, on Monday, September 25. Mountain Heritage will attempt to move on its 7-3 season record. The Patriots enter the challenge with a 4-6 record after their 5-3 league loss to Avery County (Newland, NC).

The Mountaineers now possess a 0-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Avery County for a Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge on Wednesday, September 27.
