Fans at Wednesday's league contest between the Palatine Pirates (Palatine, IL) and the host Conant Cougars (Hoffman Estates, IL), observed Palatine's volleyball team hold off Conant by a tally of 2-1.

The Pirates (18-11) will now prepare for their contest against Batavia (Batavia, IL). The Bulldogs enter the non-league contest with a 12-15 record. In their last contest, Batavia got by Wheaton-Warrenville South (Wheaton, IL), 2-0, in a league contest.

Next, the Cougars meet the Riverside-Brookfield Bulldogs (Riverside, IL) in a non-league contest, on Friday, October 18. Conant will attempt to upgrade on its 8-20 season record. The Bulldogs enter the contest with a 19-8 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Leyden (Franklin Park, IL).
