The Cumberland Dukes volleyball squad (Cumberland, VA), was edged 3-2 in Thursday's league battle with the visiting Lunenburg Central Chargers (Victoria, VA)

The Chargers (8-5) will now prepare for their contest against Southampton (Courtland, VA). The Indians enter the non-league contest with a 12-7 record. In their last contest, Southampton got by Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech (Petersburg, VA), 3-0, in a league contest.

Next, the Dukes meet the Prince Edward County Eagles (Farmville, VA) in a James River contest, on Tuesday, October 21. Cumberland will attempt to move on its 7-11 season record. The Eagles enter the contest with a 1-15 record after their 3-1 league loss to Nottoway (Nottoway, VA).
