Fans at Tuesday's league contest between the Lunenburg Central Chargers (Victoria, VA) and the visiting Cumberland Dukes (Cumberland, VA), observed Lunenburg Central's volleyball team top Cumberland by a count of 3-0.

The Chargers (4-2) will now prepare for their battle against Buckingham (Buckingham, VA). The Knights go into the James River battle with a 4-2 record. In their last battle, Buckingham achieved victory over Altavista (Altavista, VA), 3-2, in a non-league battle.

The Dukes now own a 3-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Prince Edward County for a James River battle on Thursday, September 25. Cumberland will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 3-1 league loss to Nottoway (Nottoway, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 1-8.
