The Newberg Tigers edged the host McMinnville Grizzlies volleyball squad by a final score of 3-2 in Thursday's league game.

Next up, the Tigers confront the Ida B. Wells Guardians (Portland, OR) in a non-league game, on Saturday, October 18. Newberg will attempt to advance on its 5-10 season record. The Guardians go into the game with a 8-12 record after their 3-0 league win over Benson Tech (Portland, OR).

The Grizzlies (4-14) will now prepare for their game against Forest Grove (Forest Grove, OR). The Vikings go into the 6A Pacific game with a 20-3 record. In their last game, Forest Grove nudged Century (Hillsboro, OR), 3-1, in a league game.
