The Newport Cubs soccer squad scored 8 points and held the host Sweet Home Huskies to 1 in the Cubs league win on Tuesday.

The Cubs (6-4) will now prepare for their battle against Stayton (Stayton, OR). The Eagles go into the 4A Oregon West battle with a 1-12 record. In their last battle, Stayton was overwhelmed by Cascade (Turner, OR), 2-0, in a league battle.
