The crowd at Thursday's league test between the Newport Cubs (Newport, OR) and the visiting Sweet Home Huskies (Sweet Home, OR), saw Newport's soccer squad triumph over Sweet Home by a count of 8-0.

The Cubs now hold a 3-2 record. They play next when they travel to Stayton for a 4A Oregon West test on Tuesday, October 3. Newport will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 8-0 league loss to Cascade (Turner, OR). The Eagles record now stands at 1-7.

With the loss, Sweet Home drops to 1-6 on the season. The Huskies host Philomath (Philomath, OR) to meet the Warriors in a 4A Oregon West test on Tuesday, October 3. The Warriors come into the test with a record of 5-2. Philomath lost 2-1 in their recent league test against North Marion (Aurora, OR)
