The Salem Spartans volleyball team (Salem, VA), was edged 3-2 in Tuesday's league challenge with the visiting Patrick Henry Patriots (Roanoke, VA)

The Patriots (12-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Timberlake Christian (Forest, VA). The Tornadoes come into the non-league challenge with a 18-2 record. In their last challenge, Timberlake Christian nudged Lynchburg HomeSchool (Lynchburg, VA), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Spartans encounter the Pulaski County Cougars (Dublin, VA) in a River Ridge challenge, on Thursday, October 19. Salem will attempt to upgrade on its 6-13 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 3-16 record after their 3-0 league loss to Christiansburg (Christiansburg, VA).
