In Thursday's league battle, the host Thoreau Hawks volleyball squad scored a 3-1 triumph over the Crownpoint Eagles.

Next up, the Hawks battle the Newcomb Skyhawks (Newcomb, NM) in a 3A District 1 contest, on Tuesday, October 24. Thoreau will attempt to better on its 8-8 season record. The Skyhawks come into the contest with a 7-10 record after their 3-0 league loss to Crownpoint (Crownpoint, NM).

With the loss, Crownpoint drops to 6-9 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Newcomb (Newcomb, NM) to battle the Skyhawks in a 3A District 1 contest on Saturday, October 21. The Skyhawks come into the contest with a record of 7-9. Newcomb lost 3-2 in their recent league contest against Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM)
