Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the West Columbus Vikings (Cerro Gordo, NC) and the visiting Hobbton Wildcats (Newton Grove, NC), observed West Columbus's volleyball team hold off Hobbton by a count of 2-1.

The Vikings (4-7) will now prepare for their challenge against North Duplin (Calypso, NC). The Rebels enter the non-league challenge with a 8-8 record. In their last challenge, North Duplin was tipped by North Lenoir (LaGrange, NC), 2-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Wildcats meet the East Columbus Gators (Lake Waccamaw, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, October 7. Hobbton will attempt to upgrade on its 1-13 season record.
