The Phoenix Academy Firebirds soccer team (High Point, NC), was overwhelmed 9-0 in Thursday's league battle with the visiting Triad Math and Science Academy Bengals (Greensboro, NC)
The Bengals (8-3) will now prepare for their match against Piedmont Classical (Browns Summit, NC). The Bobcats come into the Northwest Piedmont 1A/2A match with a 0-8 record. In their last match, Piedmont Classical was overwhelmed by Bethany Community (Summerfield, NC), 9-0, in a league match.
The Firebirds now sport a 3-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to North Stokes for a non-league match on Monday, October 6. Phoenix Academy will meet a Vikings team coming off a 4-1 league win over South Davidson (Denton, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 4-9.
