In Thursday's league challenge, the host Menchville Monarchs volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the Phoebus Phantoms.

The Monarchs (17-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Western Branch (Chesapeake, VA). The Bruins come into the non-league challenge with a 15-4 record. In their last challenge, Western Branch lost by Hickory (Chesapeake, VA), 3-2, in a league test.

The Phantoms now sport a 4-16 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Heritage for a Peninsula test on Monday, October 27. Phoebus will face a Hurricanes squad coming off a 3-1 league win over Woodside (Newport News, VA). The Hurricanes record now stands at 8-11.
