The Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC) soccer nipped the visiting North Brunswick Scorpions (Leland, NC), 2-1 in Monday's league bout.
With the victory, Topsail moves its record to 13-5 on the year. The Pirates host Laney (Wilmington, NC) to confront the Buccaneers in a Mideastern 3A/4A bout on Wednesday, October 26. The Buccaneers enter the bout with a record of 17-2. Laney won 9-0 in their recent league bout against West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC)
In their next game, the Scorpions confront the Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A bout, on Wednesday, October 26. North Brunswick will attempt to move on its 7-11 season record. The Screaming Eagle enter the bout with a 11-8 record after their 5-5 league New Hanover (Wilmington, NC).
