In Monday's non-league battle, the visiting Holmes Aces soccer squad scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Gates County Red Barons.

The Aces (10-3) will now prepare for their battle against Manteo (Manteo, NC). The Redskins come into the Northeastern Coastal 2A/3A battle with a 8-1 record. In their last battle, Manteo nudged Hertford County (Ahoskie, NC), 1-0, in a league battle.
