The crowd at Thursday's non-league test between the Holmes Aces (Edenton, NC) and the visiting Gates County Red Barons (Gatesville, NC), saw Holmes's soccer squad triumph over Gates County by a count of 5-0.

The Aces now hold a 7-0 record. They play next when they travel to Manteo for a Northeastern Coastal 2A/3A test on Monday, September 12. Holmes will meet a Redskins squad coming off a 9-0 non-league win over Cape Hatteras (Buxton, NC). The Redskins record now stands at 4-1.

With the loss, Gates County drops to 2-2 on the season. The Red barons host Bear Grass Charter (Williamston, NC) to meet the Bears in a non-league test on Monday, September 12. The Bears come into the test with a record of 1-3. Bear Grass Charter won 3-2 in their recent non-league test against Cape Hatteras (Buxton, NC)
