In Tuesday's league battle, the visiting Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the New Waverly Bulldogs.

The Fighting Owls (25-7) will now prepare for their battle against Coldspring-Oakhurst (Coldspring, TX). The Trojans come into the 3A Region III District 23 battle with a 14-8 record. In their last battle, Coldspring-Oakhurst defeated Crockett (Crockett, TX), 3-0, in a league battle.

Next, the Bulldogs encounter the Tarkington Longhorns (Cleveland, TX) in a 3A Region III District 23 battle, on Friday, October 6. New Waverly will attempt to move on its 9-11 season record. The Longhorns come into the battle with a 22-14 record after their 3-0 league win over Trinity (Trinity, TX).
