The Pirates now hold a 9-5 record. They play next when they host South Brunswick for a Mideastern 3A/4A challenge on Monday, October 7. Topsail will encounter a Cougars squad coming off a 6-0 league loss to Laney (Wilmington, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 2-8.

With the loss, North Brunswick moves to 6-6 on the year. The Scorpions host Hoggard (Wilmington, NC) to encounter the Vikings in a Mideastern 3A/4A challenge on Monday, October 7. The Vikings go into the challenge with a record of 10-1. Hoggard won 9-0 in their recent league challenge against West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC)
