Fans at Thursday's league battle between the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) and the visiting Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC), saw Watauga's soccer squad knock off Ashe County by a score of 3-1.

The Pioneers (16-3) will now prepare for their battle against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Spartans enter the Northwestern 3A/4A battle with a 9-8 record. In their last battle, South Caldwell tipped Freedom (Morganton, NC), 1-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Huskies confront the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) in a Northwestern 3A/4A battle, on Monday, November 4. Ashe County will attempt to improve on its 11-8 season record. The Cougars enter the battle with a 11-7 record after their 3-1 league loss to Watauga (Boone, NC).
