In Thursday's league battle, the host James River Knights volleyball team scored a tight 3-2 triumph over the Carroll County Cavaliers.

The Knights (9-7) will now prepare for their battle against Riverheads (Staunton, VA). The Gladiators come into the non-league battle with a 8-6 record. In their last battle, Riverheads was edged by Wilson Memorial (Fishersville, VA), 3-0, in a league battle.

Next, the Cavaliers encounter the Floyd County Buffaloes (Floyd, VA) in a Three Rivers battle, on Tuesday, October 10. Carroll County will attempt to move on its 9-6 season record.
