In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Preuss UCSD Tritons volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Hoover Cardinals.

The Tritons (4-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Bonsall (Bonsall, CA). The Legionnaires come into the challenge with a 6-10 record. In their last challenge, Bonsall beat King-Chavez Community (San Diego, CA), 3-1, in a league challenge.

Next, the Cardinals play the Orange Glen Patriots (Escondido, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, October 5. Hoover will attempt to upgrade on its 3-17 season record. The Patriots come into the challenge with a 7-11 record after their 3-0 league win over Calvin Christian (Escondido, CA).
