The crowd at Thursday's league test between the St. Pius X Sartans (Albuquerque, NM) and the host Grants Pirates (Grants, NM), saw St. Pius X's soccer squad triumph over Grants by a count of 7-1.
The Sartans now hold a 9-4 record. They play next when they host Belen for a 4A District 5 test on Tuesday, October 11. St. Pius X will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 1-0 non-league loss to Hatch Valley (Hatch, NM). The Eagles record now stands at 5-10.
With the loss, Grants drops to 6-6 on the season. The Pirates host Shiprock (Shiprock, NM) to meet the Chieftains in a non-league test on Friday, October 7. The Chieftains come into the test with a record of 0-14. Shiprock lost 11-1 in their recent league test against Bloomfield (Bloomfield, NM)
