The crowd at Thursday's non-league bout between the Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA) and the visiting Fort Chiswell Pioneers (Max Meadows, VA), saw Giles's volleyball squad nip Fort Chiswell by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, Giles upgrades its record to 15-2 on the year. The Spartans travel to Narrows (Narrows, VA) to play the Green Waves in a non-league bout on Monday, October 10. The Green Waves go into the bout with a record of 2-1. Narrows won 2-0 in their recent non-league bout against Covington (Covington, VA)

The Pioneers now own a 7-3 record. They play next when they host Auburn for a non-league bout on Tuesday, October 11.
