Brantley County Herons (Nahunta, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Toombs County Bulldogs (Lyons, GA), 7-1 in a league challenge.

The Herons now own a 15-11 record.

With the loss, Toombs County falls to 10-15 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Pierce County (Blackshear, GA) to face the Bears in a 2A Region 3 challenge on Tuesday, October 11. The Bears enter the challenge with a record of 12-10. Pierce County won 12-7 in their recent league challenge against Tattnall County (Reidsville, GA)
