The Wheatland Pirates edged the host Mira Loma Matadors flag football team by a score of 27-21 in Monday's league challenge.
In their next game, the Pirates face the Center Cougars (Antelope, CA) in a Pioneer Valley League challenge, on Friday, October 11. Wheatland will attempt to improve on its 7-6 season record. The Cougars enter the challenge with a 0-7 record after their 33-0 league loss to Colfax (Colfax, CA).
The Matadors (3-12) will now prepare for their challenge against Colfax (Colfax, CA). The Falcons enter the Pioneer Valley League challenge with a 6-0 record. In their last challenge, Colfax held off Oakmont (Roseville, CA), 45-6, in a league challenge.
