In Monday's league outing, the visiting Murphy Bulldogs soccer squad scored a tight 2-1 victory over the Swain County Maroon Devils.

The Bulldogs (5-8) will now prepare for their outing against Cherokee (Cherokee, NC). The Braves go into the Smoky Mountain 1A outing with a 0-6 record. In their last outing, Cherokee was edged by Tri-County (Murphy, NC), 4-0, in a league outing.

Next up, the Maroon Devils confront the Blue Ridge Early College Bobcats (Cashiers, NC) in a Smoky Mountain 1A outing, on Wednesday, October 9. Swain County will attempt to improve on its 6-6 season record. The Bobcats go into the outing with a 5-4 record after their 3-1 league win over Hayesville (Hayesville, NC).
