The Newport Cubs soccer squad scored 4 points and held the host Cascade Cougars to 1 in the Cubs league victory on Tuesday.
The Cubs now hold a 5-2 record. They play next when they travel to Philomath for a 4A Oregon West bout on Thursday, October 9. Newport will encounter a Warriors squad coming off a 2-1 league loss to North Marion (Aurora, OR). The Warriors record now stands at 6-2.
With the loss, Cascade moves to 3-5 on the year. The Cougars host Sweet Home (Sweet Home, OR) to encounter the Huskies in a 4A Oregon West bout on Thursday, October 9. The Huskies enter the contest with a record of 2-6. Sweet Home lost 10-0 in their recent league contest against Stayton (Stayton, OR)
