Fans at Tuesday's non-league battle between the Plum Mustangs (Pittsburgh, PA) and the host Hempfield Area Spartans (Greensburg, PA), saw Plum's soccer squad knock off Hempfield Area by a count of 3-0.

The Mustangs (14-2) will now prepare for their battle against Norwin (North Huntingdon, PA). The Knights enter the non-league battle with a 8-5 record. In their last battle, Norwin tipped Penn Hills (Pittsburgh, PA), 4-0, in a league match.

The Spartans now sport a 4-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Gateway for a non-league match on Thursday, October 9. Hempfield Area will meet a Gators team coming off a 1-0 non-league loss to Central Catholic (Pittsburgh, PA). The Gators record now stands at 3-10.
