The Matadors (10-6) will now prepare for their contest against El Cajon Valley (El Cajon, CA). The Braves enter the Grossmont Valley battle with a 4-14 record. In their last battle, El Cajon Valley was edged by Steele Canyon (Spring Valley, CA), 3-0, in a league battle.

The Monarchs now own a 10-17 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Grossmont for a Grossmont Valley battle on Thursday, October 9. Monte Vista will encounter a Foothillers squad coming off a 3-0 league win over West Hills (Santee, CA). The Foothillers record now stands at 17-9.
