Fans at Tuesday's non-league contest between the Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA) and the visiting George Wythe Maroons (Wytheville, VA), observed Giles's volleyball team hold off George Wythe by a count of 2-1.

The Spartans (7-5) will now prepare for their contest against Galax (Galax, VA). The Maroon Tide enter the non-league contest with a 11-3 record. In their last contest, Galax got by Narrows (Narrows, VA), 2-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Maroons battle the Bland County Bears (Rocky Gap, VA) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, October 10. George Wythe will attempt to move on its 6-7 season record.
