Fans at Tuesday's non-league contest between the North Surry Greyhounds (Mount Airy, NC) and the visiting Surry Central Golden Eagles (Dobson, NC), observed North Surry's volleyball team hold off Surry Central by a count of 2-1.

The Greyhounds (15-5) will now prepare for their contest against North Wilkes (Hays, NC). The Vikings enter the contest with a 11-9 record. In their last contest, North Wilkes got by Forbush (East Bend, NC), 2-1, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Golden Eagles battle the East Surry Cardinals (Pilot Mountain, NC) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, October 10. Surry Central will attempt to move on its 10-8 season record. The Cardinals enter the contest with a 14-5 record after their 2-0 non-league win over West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC).
