Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Surry Central Golden Eagles (Dobson, NC) and the visiting North Surry Greyhounds (Mount Airy, NC), observed Surry Central's volleyball team hold off North Surry by a count of 2-1.

The Golden Eagles (8-3) will now prepare for their contest against East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC). The Cardinals enter the non-league contest with a 9-3 record. In their last contest, East Surry got by Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC), 2-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Greyhounds battle the North Wilkes Vikings (Hays, NC) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, September 17. North Surry will attempt to move on its 11-2 season record. The Vikings enter the contest with a 6-6 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Forbush (East Bend, NC).
