In Tuesday's league challenge, the host Goliad Tigers volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the Poth Pirates.

The Tigers (29-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Nixon-Smiley (Nixon, TX). The Mustangs come into the 3A Region IV District 26 challenge with a 5-16 record. In their last challenge, Nixon-Smiley was beaten by Karnes City (Karnes City, TX), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Pirates meet the Luling Eagles (Luling, TX) in a 3A Region IV District 26 challenge, on Friday, October 11. Poth will attempt to upgrade on its 13-20 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 5-19 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Stockdale (Stockdale, TX).
