In Tuesday's league challenge, the host Shepard Astros volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Thornton Fractional North Meteors.

The Astros (17-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Evergreen Park (Evergreen Park, IL). The Mustangs come into the South Suburban challenge with a 20-4 record. In their last challenge, Evergreen Park beat Argo (Summit, IL), 2-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Meteors play the Hillcrest Hawks (Country Club Hills, IL) in a South Suburban challenge, on Tuesday, October 15. Thornton Fractional North will attempt to upgrade on its 11-15 season record. The Hawks come into the challenge with a 3-12 record after their 2-0 league loss to Bremen (Midlothian, IL).
