The Platte County Pirates softball squad (Platte City, MO), was edged 1-0 in Wednesday's non-league bout with the visiting Grain Valley Eagles (Grain Valley, MO)

The Eagles (25-6) will now prepare for their bout against Blue Springs (Blue Springs, MO). The Wildcats go into the non-league bout with a 4-9 record. In their last contest, Blue Springs nudged Staley (Kansas City, MO), 10-9, in a non-league contest.

The Pirates now hold a 3-6 record. They play next when they host Kearney for a Class 4 District 5 bout on Thursday, October 9.
