Fans at Wednesday's league contest between the Thornwood Thunderbirds (South Holland, IL) and the host Bloom Blazing Trojan (Chicago Heights, IL), observed Thornwood's volleyball team hold off Bloom by a count of 2-1.

The Thunderbirds (17-13) will now prepare for their contest against Rich Township (Olympia Fields, IL). The Raptors enter the Southland contest with a 20-10 record. In their last contest, Rich Township got by Thornton (Harvey, IL), 2-0, in a league battle.

The Blazing Trojan now own a 7-16 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Chicago Washington for a non-league battle on Thursday, October 9. Bloom will encounter a Patriots squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Lindblom (Chicago, IL). The Patriots record now stands at 8-14.
