In Wednesday's league challenge, the visiting Lewis Lancers volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Mount Vernon Majors.

The Lancers (3-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Annandale (Annandale, VA). The Atoms come into the National challenge with a 5-9 record. In their last challenge, Annandale edged Justice (Falls Church, VA), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Majors meet the Edison Eagles (Alexandria, VA) in a National challenge, on Monday, October 14. Mount Vernon will attempt to upgrade on its 0-12 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 4-5 record after their 3-0 league loss to Falls Church (Falls Church, VA).
