In Wednesday's league challenge, the host Lewis Lancers volleyball team scored a close 3-2 victory over the Mount Vernon Majors.

The Lancers (2-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Annandale (Annandale, VA). The Atoms enter the National challenge with a 1-3 record. In their last challenge, Annandale was tipped by Justice (Falls Church, VA), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Majors meet the South County Stallions (Lorton, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, September 14. Mount Vernon will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Stallions enter the challenge with a 0-5 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Westfield (Chantilly, VA).
