Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Western Christian Pioneers (Salem, OR) and the visiting Gervais Cougars (Gervais, OR), observed Western Christian's volleyball team top Gervais by a count of 3-1.

The Pioneers (9-9) will now prepare for their battle against Colton (Colton, OR). The Vikings go into the 2A Tri-River battle with a 2-12 record. In their last battle, Colton was defeated by Sheridan (Sheridan, OR), 3-1, in a league battle.

The Cougars now own a 3-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Sheridan for a 3A PacWest battle on Monday, October 13. Gervais will encounter a Spartans squad coming off a 3-1 league win over Colton (Colton, OR). The Spartans record now stands at 4-11.
