In Tuesday's non-league contest, the host McMinn County Cherokees basketball team scored a close 70-65 triumph over the Tellico Plains Bears.
The Cherokees (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Science Hill (Johnson City, TN). The Hilltoppers go into the non-league contest with a 1-2 record. In their last contest, Science Hill was tipped by Gatlinburg-Pittman (Gatlinburg, TN), 49-26, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Bears battle the Lenoir City Panthers (Lenoir City, TN) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, November 21. Tellico Plains will attempt to better on its 0-1 season record. The Panthers go into the contest with a 1-0 record after their 51-47 non-league win over Clinton (Clinton, TN).
