New Bern Bears (New Bern, NC) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host West Carteret Patriots (Morehead City, NC), 46-36 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, New Bern upgrades its record to 1-1 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Ashley (Wilmington, NC) to play the Screaming Eagle in a non-league bout on Thursday, November 30. The Screaming Eagle come into the bout with a record of 0-1. Ashley lost 39-20 in their recent non-league bout against White Oak (Jacksonville, NC)

Next up, the Patriots play the East Carteret Mariners (Beaufort, NC) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, November 21. West Carteret will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
