New Bern Bears (New Bern, NC) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting West Carteret Patriots (Morehead City, NC), 52-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, New Bern upgrades its record to 4-1 on the season. The Bears host Ashley (Wilmington, NC) to clash with the Screaming Eagle in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 6. The Screaming Eagle go into the bout with a record of 0-2. Ashley lost 46-25 in their recent non-league bout against New Bern (New Bern, NC)

Next up, the Patriots clash with the Kinston Vikings (Kinston, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 8. West Carteret will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 0-4 record after their 36-29 non-league loss to J.H. Rose (Greenville, NC).
