Illinois High School Basketball - Pope County topples Joppa-Maple Grove

In Monday's non-league outing, the Pope County Pirates (Golconda, IL) basketball squad beat the host Joppa-Maple Grove Rangers (Joppa, IL), by a margin of 76-64.

The Pirates (1-0) will now prepare for their outing against Agape Christian (Energy, IL). The Knights go into the non-league outing with a 0-0 record.

The Rangers now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to Shawnee for a South Egyptian outing on Tuesday, November 22. Joppa-Maple Grove will clash with a Redskins squad coming off a 61-26 league loss to Century (Ullin, IL). The Redskins record now stands at 0-1.
