Illinois High School Basketball - Joppa-Maple Grove overwhelmed by Pope County

The Joppa-Maple Grove Rangers basketball team (Joppa, IL), was overwhelmed 78-27 in Tuesday's non-league battle with the host Pope County Pirates (Golconda, IL)

The Pirates now possess a 17-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Century for a non-league battle on Wednesday, February 8. Pope County will confront a Centurions team coming off a 71-39 non-league loss to Anna-Jonesboro (Anna, IL). The Centurions record now stands at 6-18.

The Rangers (7-13) will now prepare for their battle against Community Christian (Paducah, KY). The Warriors come into the non-league battle with a 7-7 record. In their last battle, Community Christian trounced Cobden (Cobden, IL), 85-58, in a non-league battle.
