Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC), 61-34 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Galax upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Maroon Tide travel to Christiansburg (Christiansburg, VA) to play the Blue Demons in a non-league bout on Monday, December 4. The Blue Demons come into the bout with a record of 1-0. Christiansburg won 93-57 in their recent non-league bout against Liberty (Bedford, VA)

Next up, the Trojans play the West Wilkes Blackhawks (Millers Creek, NC) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, November 30. Alleghany will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Blackhawks come into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 45-42 non-league loss to Starmount (Boonville, NC).
