Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA) and the host Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC), saw Galax's basketball squad overcome Alleghany by a tally of 47-39.

With the victory, Galax improves its record to 3-0 on the campaign. The Maroon Tide travel to George Wythe (Wytheville, VA) to confront the Maroons in a Mountain Empire challenge on Tuesday, December 12. The Maroons come into the challenge with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Trojans confront the Grayson County Blue Devils (Independence, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, December 7. Alleghany will attempt to improve on its 0-7 season record. The Blue Devils come into the challenge with a 1-2 record after their 71-68 non-league win over Alleghany (Sparta, NC).
