Illinois High School Basketball - Bureau Valley can't hold off Newman Central Catholic

The Newman Central Catholic Comets basketball team scored 56 points and held the visiting Bureau Valley Storm to 52 in the Comets league triumph on Thursday.

The Comets now sport a 3-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Wethersfield for a non-league contest on Saturday, December 2. Newman Central Catholic will battle a Flying Geese team coming off a 51-39 non-league win over Monmouth-Roseville (Monmouth, IL). The Flying Geese record now stands at 4-1.

The Storm (4-3) will now prepare for their contest against West Carroll (Savanna, IL). The Thunder enter the non-league contest with a 2-6 record. In their last contest, West Carroll was nudged by Christian Life (Rockford, IL), 43-37, in a non-league contest.
